Konu Özeti: Making Simple Comparisons

Karşılaştırma (comparative) yapısı, iki kişi, nesne veya durumu kıyaslamak için kullanılır. Türkçedeki “daha …” anlamını verir.

Kuralları:

  • Kısa sıfatlara “-er” eklenir: tall → taller, fast → faster, old → older. Örnek: Ali is taller than Mehmet.
  • Sonu sessiz harfle biten kısa sıfatlarda son harf çift yazılır: big → bigger, hot → hotter.
  • “-y” ile biten sıfatlarda “y” düşer, “-ier” eklenir: happy → happier, easy → easier.
  • Uzun sıfatların önüne “more” gelir: beautiful → more beautiful, expensive → more expensive.
  • Düzensiz sıfatlar: good → better, bad → worse, far → further.

“than” kullanımı: Karşılaştırmada iki şey “than” (-den/-dan) ile bağlanır. Örnek: Basketball is more exciting than chess. A car is faster than a bike.

Bu ünite genellikle Sports teması ile işlenir; sporları, hızları ve özellikleri karşılaştırmak için kullanılır. Öğrenci, iki şeyi özelliklerine göre İngilizce kıyaslayabilir.
